General Update!

Wow! Days of been breezing by like there's no tomorrow! Only 46 days until Valleyfair opens for the 2009 season! Soon it'll be in the 30's, then 20's, then it'll be May, then it'll be the countdown from 10-1, and then it will finally be opening day. Until then!

Yesterday, Valleyfair updated their website with the 2009 season pass processing hours. The first day available to process your season pass is Thursday, the 16th of April from 4pm-8pm.
To view the rest of the hours that you can go and process your season pass, click here. Also, I'd like to remind all non-super fans that you must get your season pass processed in order to be able to visit the park (have admission etc.), so you must do this! Also, the line for processing on opening day which falls on May 19th this year, gets very long, so I recommend going before opening day to process your pass.

One of the latest tidbits that we've been informed about is that Excalibur's trains are on the transfer track, and testing will begin soon. We haven't heard much regarding other coasters or rides, but we do know that the Ferris Wheel is set up again, and other rides will be either be reassembled or testing this week(end)! Stay tuned for more info!

Replacing Grandma's Bake & Sweet Shoppe, Cinnabon will dominate the front of the park aroma wise, attracting in customers with its sweet scent, and even better taste! We'll have more info about new foods for 09 very soon, so keep checking back!

Valleyfair For Sale?!

In a shocking press release, Cedar Fair has announced that it has looked into selling any of 3 parks which include California's Great America, Worlds of Fun, and yours truly, Valleyfair. This is a shocking statement, and has not only disheartened many Valleyfair enthusiasts, but have caused protests already. A facebook group has formed which has over 100 members already, there is a cafepress setup where you may purchase "Save Valleyfair" merchandise and apparel, and much more. Let's hope for the best in these tough economic times. To read the press release, click here, and to discuss this matter, click here.

New Haunt Possibility!

Thanks to a suggestion from a fellow Valleyfair fan, we've come up with a new possibility for a haunt location.

Will this have anything to do with 2009?

Well like the title says, it's a "Possibility". Not a location for a new haunt, or even rumored. We just happened to catch this randomly when browsing on Windows Live Local (Great site by the way!).

Now what we can assume that if this ever could be a haunt is that it could possibly enter somewhere around Coasters/Galaxy, and share an exit with CarnEvil. The two sheds combined look to be around the size of the game warehouse, except with an added bonus! There's a space in between them which means there could be an indoor section. And for all you haunt related workers at the park, feel free to use the idea, we like it too!

So there ya go! We'll be doing this once or twice every month so stay tuned for more possibilities, and a new post about our new feature, Rumor Has It!

Until then, enjoy this lame picture of how much snow we have!

Rumor Has It!

Photo from Valleyfair.com

Welcome to a new section of the Valleyfairzone Blog called "Rumor Has It!". This new section will feature 2-3 new rumors heard from around either the park, or the coaster industry. Now let me remind you, these are just Rumors, and nothing is fact until announced, so we don't want any "Oh wow, if they posted it here, it's 100% true!", this is just a little tidbit that speculates & brings up a couple rumors. So with that, let's get to it!

The photo featured above (from Valleyfair.com) shows a building being built, or at least the foundation. that photo was taken on the 6th of February, and from some credible sources, two different buildings have their main structures, and foundations up, and are nearly complete construction wise. Now what is the building above? I for one have no idea, but we do know that one building on the construction site is apart of the expansion, and is a new eatery. Now with that, although this is nothing too special, we've heard that it will be a generic food place, serving regular American cuisine (Burgers, fries, drinks, pizza, etc.). Hopefully we'll find out the name of it soon!

Ah, the old Flume turnaround happened to be right here a couple months ago. And in just a few months (around 7), this could be home to a new haunted zone in the park. One of the reoccuring rumors is that there will be a waterpark haunt this year. With the waterpark nearly doubling its size with the expansion of Soak City (formerly Whitewater Country Waterpark), there will be a TON of open space for a haunt.

What will happen to Carnage?! They'll be too close

Well, from another credible source, Carnage won't be returning this year. Through the past 3 years of the Haunt, the maze has had its ups and downs, but mostly downs. Between the over-fogging issue and the near flop it had in 2008, it will most likely not be returning. We can only hope that it will get replaced with a great new haunt!

That's all for now with "Rumor Has It!". Check back soon for more updates!
